Women’s Soccer Falters in Skyline Matchup against Sage

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Maritime Women's Soccer team dropped a league matchup to the Sage Gators on Saturday afternoon by the score of 8-0.
 
In the game, junior goalkeeper Kristen Hoar (Buffalo, N.Y./Kenmore East) made 14 stops while playing all 90 minutes for Maritime between the posts.

Sage needed just 91 seconds to get on the board, as the Gators scored on a cross from the left wing into the lower right corner of the goal. The Gators added three more goals in the first half of play to take a 4-0 lead into the halftime break.
 
Sage added four more goals in the second half of play within a 16-minute span to pick up the 8-0 shutout victory.
 
Hoar took the loss to fall to 5-10-1 on the year, while earning the win was Teagan Waddingham after playing the first 46:19 of the match without registering a save. Splitting the shutout was Ashley Donovan, who also did not make a save through the final 43:41 of regulation.
 
Maritime (5-10-1, 1-6 Skyline) will return home this Monday, as the Privateers host Farmingdale for the final game of the 2014 campaign, with a 7 p.m. start against the Rams. Sage (9-4-2, 6-2 Skyline) will wrap up its regular season with a matchup on Wednesday evening at SUNY Canton for a 6 p.m. start.
