Saturday, September 7, 2013 – 11:30 a.m.
Field 70 - Randall's Island, N.Y.

The Maritime women's soccer team heads back on the road for its next contest against the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice. The game will take place on Randall's Island at Field 70 with kickoff slated for 11:30 a.m.

The Privateers enter on a two-game winning streak and look to keep their good times rolling against the Bloodhounds. In Maritime's last game senior Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) picked up the opening goal, while freshman Marisa Athan (Mineola, N.Y./Mineola) notched her first two career goals as the Privateers ran away with a 3-0 victory over Lehman on Wednesday evening. Sophomore Kristen Hoar (Buffalo, N.Y./Kenmore East) also picked up her first career shutout as she finished the game with two saves against the Lightning.

John Jay started the year with a pair of games at the Staten Island Fall Classic at the College of Staten Island. The Bloodhounds have yet to score as they were blanked against host Staten Island (0-4) and City College of New York (0-2). John Jay was to have a road game against NYU-Poly on Wednesday but the game was postponed, no make-up date has been announced.

Captains Announced
Maritime women's soccer announced its captains earlier this week with juniors Kadie Hook (Monkton, Md./John Carroll) and Gabrielle Fox (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) as well as sophomore Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) being asked to lead the team for the first time in each of their careers.
