The Maritime women's soccer team kicks off the home portion of its 2013 schedule with a non-conference matchup against the Lehman Lightning at 7 p.m. on Reinhart Field.
Both teams come off of wins as Maritime defeated Thomas (Maine) by a 2-1 score on Saturday, senior Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) scored twice in the second half to overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit. Sophomore Kristen Hoar (Buffalo, N.Y./Kenmore East) picked up the victory as she made 12 saves. Lehman comes off of a 6-0 shutout victory over Yeshiva as Juliana Generoso scored three of Lehman's goals.
Pre-Game Tribute
Prior to the contest, the Privateers will have a special tribute to former teammate Kelly Swedalla, who passed away unexpectedly in the summer of 2012. A moment of silence before the National Anthem will be held to recognize the loss of the former Privateer.
Skyline Recognition
The Skyline Conference announced its first weekly awards of the 2013 season with Hoar earning Co-Rookie of the Week Honors for her effort against Thomas (Maine). Trenkamp also picked up Honor Roll mention for her two-goal output against the Terriers.
Scarves for Sale
The women's soccer team will be selling scarves for the price of $20 each as a team fundraiser, the scarves feature Maritime colors and logos and will be available at the main steps leading up to the bleachers at Reinhart Field.
All-Time Series
Maritime and Lehman have never played one another in the history of the programs. Today signifies the first matchup between the Privateers and the Lightning.

Maritime takes on John Jay this Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m., the game will be played on Randalls Island at Field 70 and will be a home contest for the Bloodhounds.
Lehman takes on St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) this Saturday at 1 p.m. in Allentown, Pa. as part of the Cedar Crest Soccer Tournament.
