THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (October 8, 2013) – The Maritime women's soccer team coming off of just its fourth loss of the season will look to get back on the winning track with a non-conference matchup against the York (N.Y.) Cardinals on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. on Reinhart Field.

Maritime comes in off of a loss to Old Westbury on Friday evening by the score of 3-1. The Panthers scored twice in the first half of play, before Maritime came out in the second period and trimmed the lead in half on the 20th goal of the season by Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca). Old Westbury tacked on one more goal later in the game to come away with the victory.

York (N.Y.) has had a difficult campaign scoring just four goals in 10 games this season, including a three-goal game in its lone win of the season against Sarah Lawrence on September 5. In their most recent contest, the Cardinals fell on the road against City College of New York on Saturday afternoon by the score of 3-0. Jessica Cornejo led York with two shots in the losing effort.

Maritime is 0-1 all-time versus York (N.Y.), the two teams met in 2012 at York on October 1st. The Cardinals won the game by the score of 2-1 in overtime as Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) scored the lone goal for Maritime.

Honor Roll
