THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (October 18, 2013) – The Maritime women's soccer team concludes its 2013 home schedule with a pair of games this weekend against the Knights of Mount St. Mary on Friday, and the Alfred Saxons on Sunday.
The Privateers come in off of its biggest win of the season, 8-0 over the Yeshiva Maccabees. Six different players scored for Maritime including a pair each from senior Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) and junior Melanie Lopez (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders Trades & Technical). In goal, Jori Cooper (Chazy, N.Y./Chazy Central Rural) picked up her first win of the season in her second start of the year.
Mount St. Mary enters on a six-game winning streak including four games against Skyline Conference opponents. The Knights look to remain undefeated in league play tonight against Maritime. Mount St. Mary enters off of a 4-1 win on the road against former Skyline Conference member Bard, the Raptors scored first but the Knights answered with four straight for the win.
Alfred will be in the metropolitan area this weekend beginning with an Empire 8 matchup Stevens in Hoboken, N.J. at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Saxons enter the weekend on a two-game skid against Empire 8 rivals St. John Fisher and Utica. Defender Nicole Luber scored Alfred's lone goal in the 2-1 loss to the Pioneers in the team's most recent game.

Maritime enters with a 0-7 mark against the Knights entering tonight's game. Last season the Privateers fell on the road in Newburgh, N.Y.
Against Alfred, the Privateers are 0-2 as the two teams have played one another in each of the last two seasons. In 2011 the Saxons escaped with a one-goal win, while a trip up to Alfred N.Y. was not as successful for Maritime in 2012.
Senior Day
Prior to the game on Sunday afternoon, the Privateers will be honoring its three senior members of the team, who will be playing in their final home game at Reinhart Field. Seniors AudryAnna Ward (Youngsville, N.Y./Lake Huntington), Amy Hansen (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich), and Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) will be recognized for their efforts towards the program both on and off the field.

Maritime heads on the road for its final Skyline Conference contest this Saturday at 11 a.m. against the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's.
Mount St. Mary takes on Purchase College this Sunday on the road in Purchase before wrapping up its regular season against Farmingdale at home in what could determine whom the No. 1 overall seed is in the Skyline Conference Tournament.
After today the Saxons return back to upstate N.Y. for a contest against Division II Daemen College on Wednesday, before ending its 2013 season with Empire 8 games against Elmira and Hartwick.
