Box Score TEANECK, N.J. (October 16, 2013) – The Maritime women's soccer team took care of business against Yeshiva on Wednesday evening, defeating the Maccabees by a score of 8-0. With the victory, Maritime collected its 10th victory of the season as it added to its program record in wins in a single season.

Six different Privateers had goals in the game to fall just one player shy of the team record set in 2011. In Maritime's season opener two seasons ago, seven different players found the back of the net in a 10-0 win, also over Yeshiva.

Maritime scored its first goal as junior Kadie Hook (Monkton, Md./John Carroll) fed a through-ball forward to senior Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca).  The senior finished the shot as she picked up her 22nd of the season to put the Privateers up by one.

Freshman Marisa Athan (Mineola, N.Y./Mineola) didn't take long after Trenkamp's goal to put the Privateers up by a pair off a pass from sophomore Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville). Senior Amy Hansen (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich ) got in on the scoring action next as she increased the lead to three.

As the period progressed, it was Hook's turn to get in the goal column off of a free kick from just beyond the 18-yard box. Trenkamp followed with her second of the half, and 76th of her career.

After picking up an assist earlier in the half, Lavelle found the back of the net on a long drive to put Maritime's sixth goal on the board. Towards the end of the period, junior Melanie Lopez (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders Trades & Technical) joined the scoring parade as she netted her second of the season.

Maritime took its comfortable 7-0 lead into the halftime break as the squad controlled the entirety of the first half against the Maccabees.

In the second half, the Privateers were able to hold any chance Yeshiva tried to put together as the squad remained satisfied with its lead. Towards the end of regulation, Maritime added one more to the score sheet as Lopez drove another shot to the back of the net. With her two goals against Yeshiva tonight, Lopez now has five career goals in three games against the Maccabees.

In goal, sophomore Jori Cooper (Chazy, N.Y./Chazy Central Rural) was called into action for just the second time in season between the posts and collected a few saves while picking up the first win of her career.

Maritime (10-7, 2-4 Skyline) will look to keep its momentum going against a solid Mount St. Mary team, this Friday at 7 p.m. back home at Reinhart Field. Yeshiva (1-7, 1-3 HVIAC) will host Purchase at 11 a.m. on Friday on the Purchase College campus.
