ALFRED, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2012) – The Maritime women's soccer team travelled Upstate to take on Alfred University Saturday afternoon and lost the non-conference affair, 13-0. The defeat drops the Privateers to 0-7-0 overall on the season, while the Saxons improve to 4-2-0.

Meghin Paczkowski (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) turned aside 10 Alfred shots on the afternoon, but the relentless Saxon offense saw six different goal scorers find the back of the net. Maritime registered two shots on goal in the game by sophomore

Alfred was led by freshman Dawn Torlish, who recorded three goals and one assist, while junior Sarah Borrhello also posted a hat trick. In goal senior Ashley Frazell and junior Samijo Scheer combined for a shutout, as each keeper played in one half.
Maritime returns to the pitch on Friday, Sept. 21, for the first Skyline Conference contest of the season against the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College-Long Island. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
