STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Oct. 23, 2012) – The Maritime women's soccer team played its last game of the 2012 season at the College of Staten Island Tuesday afternoon. The Privateers lost to the Dolphins by the score of 6-0, ending the year with a 1-18 record, while CSI improves to 10-5.
All six goals came in the first 45 minutes of the game, as the Dolphins outshot Maritime, 19-2, in the opening half. Sophomore Samantha Wysokowski and junior Demi-Jean Martorano each had two goals and one assist apiece for Staten Island.
For the Privateers, freshman keeper
Meghin Paczkowski (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) recorded 14 saves on the night. Freshmen
Caroline Reynolds (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) and
Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) had the only two shots on goal for Maritime on the night.
The Privateers were originally scheduled to end the season on Thursday at Penn State-Berks, but that game has been cancelled.
