        THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Oct. 21, 2012) – The Maritime women's soccer team earned its first victory of the 2012 season Sunday afternoon at Reinhart Field, defeating visiting Yeshiva University, 5-0, on Senior Day. Before the game, the team honored its two four-year seniors, Molly Divens (Beltsville, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) (Beltsville, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) and Liz Dragomir (Rye Brook, N.Y./School of the Holy Child) (Rye Brook, N.Y./School of the Holy Child) with a very special ceremony.
 
        The first goal of the game didn't come until the second half. Junior Jackie Bellisari (Albertson, N.Y./Holy Trinity) (Albertson, N.Y./Holy Trinity) found the back of the net for the first time in her career off a pass by sophomore Melanie Lopez (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders Trades & Technical) (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders Trades & Technical). Lopez would score shortly after from the top of the box, assisted by freshman Caroline Reynolds (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego), to make it 2-0.
 
        Senior Laura Palino (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) then scored her first career goal when she gathered a rebound and fired a shot low into the net in the 59th minute. Freshman Leanne Lavelle (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) (New Windsor, N.Y./Washingtonville) tallied her second goal of the season off a corner kick, when her cross went into the net off of Yeshiva's keeper's hands. Lopez finished the scoring with a goal assisted by Dragomir.
 
        Freshman keeper Meghin Paczkowski (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) turned aside one Maccabee shot on goal to earn the shutout and victory, the firsts of her career.
 
        The Privateers return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 23, when they will travel to Staten Island to take on CSI in a non-conference game. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
