Women’s Soccer Falls To Old Westbury On The Road On Breast Cancer Awareness Day

        OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Oct. 13, 2012) – The Maritime women's soccer team took part in a pregame “Walk Against Breast Cancer” on Saturday, completing nine laps around the Panther Field with Old Westbury before the scheduled conference contest. The two teams were joined by friends, family members and fans to complete the nine laps, representing the 1-in-9 women that have been touched by breast cancer on Long Island. The Panthers competed in pink uniforms, while the Privateers wore pink game socks to honor the event.
 
        In the game action on the field, Old Westbury defeated Maritime, 7-0, to move to 7-8 (4-2 Skyline) on the season, while the Privateers fall to 0-15 (0-7 Skyline).
 
        Freshman goalkeeper Meghin Paczkowski (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) recorded a season-high 25 saves on the night. For Old Westbury, JoAnna Kettell recorded two goals and two assists, while Stephanie Maybie had a hat trick with three goals.
 
        Maritime is back in action on Monday afternoon, Oct. 15, when the squad will travel up to Pomona, N.Y. to take on NCAA Division-II opponent St. Thomas Aquinas. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
