THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2011) – The Maritime women's soccer team will travel to Maspeth, Queens, N.Y., to take on the John Jay College of Criminal Justice Wednesday night in non-conference action. The game is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m. at the Metropolitan Oval.
Inside The Series
The two schools have met only twice before in the five previous years of the Maritime women's soccer program history. In the last meeting, which took place on Oct. 21 of last season in Throggs Neck, the Privateers edged the Bloodhounds, 4-3, as then-junior Samantha Easterman (Amityville, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) (Amityville, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) notched all four goals for Maritime. The only other time the two squads play each other was back in the 2005 season, the Privateers' first, when John Jay blanked Maritime at home, 5-0.
