Staten Island grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute when senior Paige Buono found the back of the net off a pass by freshman Melissa Gelardi. The Dolphins extended their lead to 2-0 in the 35th minute as freshman Gabriela Galeano scored unassisted. The goal was Trenkamp's team-leading 10th of the season and also the 40th of her two-plus year career thus far with the Privateers, which is a program record.

Maritime returns to action on Monday, Oct. 10, in the first game of a soccer doubleheader with the men's team. The Privateers will welcome in the City College of New York, also of the CUNYAC, at 5 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
