THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Oct. 8, 2010) - The Maritime women's soccer team lost to Skyline opponent Bard, 8-0, Friday night at Reinhart Field. With the loss the Privateers fall to 1-12 overall (1-5 Skyline), while the Raptors improve to 6-5 (5-1 Skyline).

Sophomore Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) (Tabernacle, N.Y./Seneca) and junior Kristen Saporito (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) each recorded a shot on goal, but both were saved. In goal for the Privateers, senior Andria Thornton (Saugerties, N.Y./Saugerties) (Saugerties, N.Y./Saugerties) finished the night with four saves.

The Raptors had five different goal scorers in the game as Perry Sheetz, Maddy Huggins and Kim Larie each had two goals apiece. Keeper Lena James played the first half and made one save before being replaced by Amy Strawbridge at the start of the second half, who also made one save. James earned her first win of the season.

The Privateers return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 12, when they play host to Yeshiva at 8 p.m. at Reinhart Field.
