    MORRISVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 6, 2009)
– The Maritime women's soccer team extended its season-opening winning streak to three games Sunday afternoon by defeating Morrisville State, 5-0, at the Mustangs' Drake Field. With the win, the Privateers improve to 3-0 on the young season, while Morrisville State drops to 0-2.

Freshman Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) stole the show with a hat trick and one assist. It was Maritime's third hat trick in as many games. The Tabernacle, N.J., native notched the contest's first goal for the second-straight game, a chip shot over the defense that bounced over the head of the goalkeeper in the 38th minute.

In the 41st minute, freshman Meghan Burke (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan E. Wagner ) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season off of a free kick. Trenkamp added her second goal of the day in the 66th minute, converting on a header off a cross from junior Kaitlin Murray (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren Regional) to give the Privateers a 3-0 lead.

Murray scored less than a minute later off a pass from Trenkamp to extend the lead to 4-0. Trenkamp ended the scoring in the 85th minute by receiving a pass from Murray after a shot by Burke was denied by the Mustangs' keeper and stuffing it into the open side.

In goal, freshman Courtney Marietta (Grantville, Pa./Lower Dauphin) collected her second-straight shutout after turning aside all five Mustangs' shots on goal to improve to 3-0 on the season.
