            COBLESKILL, N.Y. (Sept.12, 2009) – The Maritime women's soccer team lost, 3-1, on the road to SUNY Cobleskill Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Privateers fall to 3-2 on the season, while the Fighting Tigers improve to 1-2.

 

            Sophomore Sam Easterman tallied the first goal of the game in the 27th minute. She received a cross from freshman Jorrie Trenkamp (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) directly in front of the net and shot the ball past the keeper to put the Privateers up 1-0, a lead that they carried into the half.

 

            However, Cobleskill came out strong in the second half, tallying three unanswered goals to earn the victory.

 

Maritime returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 16, when the squad travels to Abington, Pa. to face the Nittany Lions of Penn State-Abington. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Huntingdon Road Field.
