Maritime Volleyball Struggles at Home Against CSI

THROGS NECK, NY - The Maritime women's volleyball team had a tough night at home against the visiting Dolphins from the College of Staten Island.  The Privateers lost 25-10, 25-4, 25-12, and now stand at 1-2 overall.  The Dolphins improved to 3-4.

The Privateers were led by Lilliana Lopez (Bronx, NY/Jane Adams) (Bronx, NY/Jane Adams) who had 2 kills and a blocked shot.  Natalie Jackson (Stockton, Calif./Bear Creek) (Stockton, CA/Bear Creek) and Jami-Lyn Butto (Lakeworth, Fla./Pope John Paul II) (Lakeworth, FL/Pope John Paul II) each recorded a kill.

The Dolphins were led by Juliya Rabkina (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) who recorded 3 kills, 5 aces, and 11 assits.  Vanessa Perez (Brooklyn, NY/Fort Hamilton) had 9 service aces.

Up next for the Privateers is a conference tri-match hosted by Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday.  Maritime will open against Mount Saint Vincent at 10:00 a.m. and play St. Joseph's at noon.
