Box Score THROGGS NECK, NY- The Privateer women's lacrosse team lost to Mount St. Vincent in a Skyline Conference match-up by a score of 19-2 in game played on Reinhart Field on April 10, 2008.
Maritime was unable to withstand the offensive pressure mounted by the Dolphins in the first half, getting outscored 16-1 and going 4-11 in clear attempts. Sophomore Meagan Golden (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) (Point Pleasant, NJ/ Point Pleasant) maintained her composure under the barrage of Dolphin shots and managed to make 8 saves for the game. The Privateer's first goal came from freshman Andria Thornton (Saugerties, N.Y./Saugerties) (Saugerties, NY/ Saugerties) off of a free-position attempt. The second goal came in the second half and was scored by sophomore Maggie Klimkowski (/) (Wantaugh, NY/ Kellenburg Memorial). Klimkowski also notched 5 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers.
11 different players combined for goals from Mount St. Vincent. Cyndi Adams, Jessie Mitchell and Katie Tucci led the team with 3 goals apiece. Lauren Perla and Kelly Martin each tallied two while Kristen LeGeyt, Stacie Tripp, Megan Eleri, Marie Garcia, Jenna McColgan and Katie Zimmerman all had 1 goal each.
The Privateers will be in action again on April 12 in another Skyline Conference contest at Kean University starting at noon.
