Box Score
THROGGS NECK, NY - The SUNY Maritime men's basketball team played Mount Saint Mary's at the IZOD Center (home of the NJ Nets) Tuesday evening.  The Privateers (10-11, 7-7) won the game 72-66, and are now one game behind MSM (11-10, 8-6) for the 4th seed.

Having lost the first meeting of the season in Newburgh 73-67, the Privateers were looking for revenge.  A 10-2 run to open the game put Maritime in the driver's seat, and they never looked back.  The lead was pushed to 10 by the end of the first half, and as much as 11 in the second half.

Though down by 10 at the half, MSM fought back to within 1 with 7 minutes remaining, but would get no closer for the remainder of the game.  Tough defense down the stretch proved to be the key for the Privateers.  Jamal Webb (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Tuckahoe) (Tuckahoe, NY/Tuckahoe) led the Privateers with 15 points.  He also pulled down 9 rebounds, had 4 steals, and made 2 assists.  Tim Dougherty (Fresh Meadows, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) (Fresh Meadows, NY/St. Francis Prep) recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Joseph Bracaglia (Jamaica, N.Y./Martin Van Buren) (Jamaica, NY/Martin Van Buren) added 12 points off the bench, to go along with 7 rebounds.

Maritime will travel to Purchase College on Thursday for an 8PM game.  The Privateers won the first meeting between the two 65-58.
