Box Score

THROGS NECK, NY - The Privateer men's soccer team found themselves down 2-0 at halftime, but did not panic.  They came out in the second half and held Purchase scoreless while their offense scored three times to earn the victory.  It was Maritime's 4th overall victory, and first conference win.  The Privateers stand at 4-5-1 (1-1).

Both Purchase goals came in the first half off the foot of Geoff Robbins and Dan Grabowski-Clark within 30 seconds of each other. The quick back-to-back scoring would prove to be the only goals allowed by the Privateers, as their defense stepped it up a notch.

The Priavteers came out of the locker room at the half down two goals, but continued to play their game.  In the 69th minute, the Privateers cut the lead in half, off Mayer Nelson (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington)'s (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) unassisted goal.  A little over 5 minutes later, Maritime tied the game when Arthur Melody (East Fishkill, N.Y./John Jay) (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) scored his first goal of the season.  Three minutes later, Melody notched the game winner, his second of the game and the season.  The Privateers held on to win 3-2.

Harris Papson (Flushing, N.Y./Francis Lewis) (Flushing, NY/Francis Lewis) made 12 saves in 90 minutes of play for the win.  The Privateers are playing host to New York City Tech at 7:30PM on Monday evening.
