Volleyball Drops Home Conference Match to Mount Saint Mary's 3-0

THROGS NECK, NY - The women's volleyball team dropped their home conference match this evening to the Blue Knights of Mount Saint Mary's 3-0.  Individual game scores were 25-13, 25-11, 25-14.  The win puts the Knights in a tie for third place in the conference at 5-1.  The Privateers dropped to 0-7.

Natalie Jackson (Stockton, Calif./Bear Creek) (Stockton, CA/Bear Creek) led Maritime with 7 kills, 2 assists, and 10 digs.  Lauren Campbell (Nassau, Bahamas/Lyford Coy International) (Nassau, Bahamas/Lyford City) followed with 3 kills, 5 digs, and an assist.  The Privateers matched the Knights point for point for the first 8 points of the night, but the Knights pulled away after that.  The third game started the same way, with the Privateers matching the first 8, but once again the Knights claimed the lead and never looked back.

The visitors were led by Courtney Kenney with 6 kills, 3 aces, and 3 digs.  Liz Douress followed with 4 kills of her own, adding 2 assists and 2 aces.  Katie Toole had 9 assists on the evening.

The Privateers are on the road this Saturday at Purchase College for the final Conference matches of the season.  They will play Farmingdale (1-5)  first at 10:00AM and then Old Westbury (1-6) at 2:00PM.
