Throggs Neck, NY – Freshman attack Kiti Ovaskainen (Helsinki, Finland/Vaskivuoren Lukio) scored a game high six goals as the Cyclones of Centenary College handed the Privateers of Maritime College their first shutout defeat of the season in women’s lacrosse action Tuesday night at Reinhart Field in Throggs Neck, NY.

 

Junior attack Nicole Becker (Randolph, NJ/Randolph)scored four goals and tallied four assists and freshman midfielder Megan Mars (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) added four goals for the Cyclones.

 

Senior keeper Laura Davis (Vernon, NJ/Oakridge) made two saves in net to earn the shutout, while senior Nicole Rosario (Massapequa, NY/Kellenberg) (Massapequa, NY/Kellenberg) made 17 saves for the Privateers.

 

Tonight’s game concluded the Privateers inaugural varsity season, they finish 2007 with a 1-6 overall record.
