Keith Fricke (White Plains, NY/White Plains) (White Plains, NY/White Plains) put a shot in the back of the net with 1:30 left in the third to bring the Privateers to within one goal, but the Red Hawks of Montclair State University would scored four unanswered goals from that point on to pull out an 11-6 victory in men’s lacrosse Skyline Conference action Wednesday night at Sprague Field in Montclair, NJ.

Alex Rosero (Bellport, NY/Bellport) led the Privateers with two goals scored and added an assist, while four other Privateers each finished with a goal. Junior midfielder
Donald Toby (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) finished with a game high nine ground balls and was 7-of-15 on face-offs.
Sophomore attack Tyler Meixner (Hamburg, NJ/Vernon) scored four goals and had an assist, leading the Red Hawks to victory. Three other Red Hawks finished with two goals each.

Joseph Fasano (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) made 12 saves, his season average, but allowed 11 goals in four periods of action. Sophomore
Thomas Bowers (Hamburg, NJ/Pope John XXIII) made 12 saves and gave up six goals for the Red Hawks who move to 3-3 on the year and 2-1 in the Skyline. The loss drops Maritime to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the Skyline.
Maritime returns to action on Saturday, when they head to Hoboken, NJ to face the defending conference champion Ducks of the Stevens Institute of Technology for a 1:00 p.m. game at De Baun Athletic Complex.
