Brittany McVea (Camillus, NY/West Genesse) (Camillus, NY/West Genesse) and
Alyson Paz (Point Lookout, NY/Long Beach) (Point Lookout, NY/Long Beach) each won two events, but the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent earned a 126-86 win over the shorthanded Privateers in a women’s swimming meet Tuesday evening at Maritime.
Price picked up first place finishes in the 200-yard IM [2:57.43] and the 100-yard butterfly [1:26.75], while McVea’s time in the 50-yard butterfly [33.41] set a new personal best. McVea’s other win was in the 100-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 1:06.67, Paz had her wins in the 50-yard freestyle [29.27] and 100-yard IM [1:23.96].
Junior
Diane Kruse (Port Jefferson Station, NY/St. Anthony's) (Port Jefferson Station, NY/St. Anthony's) added to the Privateers team scored with second place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle [8:09.57], 50-yard breaststroke [45.13] and 100-yard breaststroke [1:41.77]. Sophomore
Moira Kelley (Long Beach, NY/Kellenberg) added second place finishes in all three of her events, the 50-yard backstroke [40.44], 100-yard backstroke [1:40.62] and the 200-yard freestyle [3:20.27].
The Privateers will now head to the Metropolitan Conference Championships which run from Friday, February 16 through Sunday February 18 and is being hosted by Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
