Men's Swimming Defeats Lehman at Home

THROGGS NECK, NY - The SUNY Maritime men's swim team defeated Lehman College at home by a final score of 120-114.  This was the first win for the Privateers this season.

The men captured five first place finishes during the meet, with Brian Day (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) winning two individual events and 1 team event.  He captured the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:37.52, the 500-yard freestyle in 5:40.17, and was part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished in 1:36.40.  Karl Fisher (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township) (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township), John Stultz (Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan), and Jon Agliata (Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) were the other members of the relay team.  The other two events were won by David O'Dougherty (Morristown, NJ/Oratory Prep) (Morristown, NJ/Oratory Prep).  He captured the 200-yard IM in 2:13.30 and the 100-yard backstroke in 58.31.

The men will have a long break before returning on January 15th.  The team will travel to Mount Saint Mary at 6:30 when they come back.
