Basketball Suffers Defeat at Lehman

THROGGS NECK, NY - The SUNY Maritime men's basketball team suffered their second loss of the season against Lehman College on November 20th, 84-68.  Maritime's record fell to 1-2 on the season.

Lehman outscored he Privateers 49-31 in the first half, after shooting nearly 60% from the field and an impressive 72% from behind the arc (8-11).  Maritime was 50% from the field in the half (10-20), and attempted only one three point shot, which was missed. 

The Privateers outscored Lehman in the second half 37-35, and outshot the Lightening as well (45%).  The difference in the game was the three point shot, of which the Privateers couldn't connect on any of the 8 they took over the span of the game.  Giovanni Hurley (Brooklyn, N.Y./Middle College High) (Brooklyn, NY/Middle College) led the Privateers with 11 points, followed by Kirk McRae (Brooklyn, N.Y./George Westinghouse) (Brooklyn, NY/George Westinghouse) and Rahshawn Pringle (Bronx, N.Y./Frederick Douglas) (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglas) with 10 points apiece. 

The Privateers open conference play at Yeshiva on Monday, November 26th at 8PM.
