THROGGS NECK, NY - A highly successful season for the Maritime men's soccer team came to an end at the hands of Old Westbury in the Skyline Conference Semi-Finals on Thursday.  The 5-0 loss ended the Privateer's season with a 13-8 overall record.

Old Westbury scored twice in the opening 10 minutes of the game, and the Privateers couldn't overcome the deficit.  Offensively, Maritime struggled, taking 8 shots on goal from no closer than 10 yards out.  The defense for Maritime couldn't find an answer for Old Westbury's  leading scorer, John Senatore, who scored 2 times and assisted once on the afternoon.  Justin Leakey had three goals for the Panthers.

Three seniors played their final game for Maritime, namely Matt Kavanaugh (Penfield, NY/Penfield) (Penfield, NY/Penfield) in goal, Anuar Romero (Roselle, NJ/Roselle) (Roselle, NJ/Roselle) at midfield, and Nihat Mazman (Iskenderun, Turkey/Ziyakalkavan) (Iskenderun, Turkey) at midfield.  Congratulations to them and their families for their hard work here at Maritime College.
