Purchase, NY (Oct. 6, 2007) – SUNY Maritime's continued pressure finally broke through in a 4-0 win Saturday over Purchase. Noah Colantuono (SR/Pawling, NY) took the loss, but was strong in goal, finishing with nine saves.

The Panthers hung tight through the first half, losing 1-0 at intermission, but couldn't stop the Privateers' attack in the second period. Maritime went on to score three goals, including two late scores to secure the victory.

Patrick Masango (Baltimore, MD/Phs Kumba) put Maritime on the board midway through the first on an unassisted goal. Melih Aklildiz, off an assist from Masango, pushed the lead to 2-0. Maritime never looked back in the second half. Nihat Mazman (Iskenderun, Turkey/Ziyakalkavan) and Mayer Nelspon capped the win with late scores.

Matthew Kavanaugh earned the victory in goal for Maritime. He recorded six saves.

Maritime out shot Purchase 26-11 for the game, including 18-7 in the second half.
