Maritime Football Falls to Huntingdon

THROGGS NECK, NY - The SUNY Maritime football team traveled to Montgomery, Alabama this past weekend to take on Huntingdon College, where they fell 54-13 in front of the Hawk's homecoming crowd of over 1900 people.  Both teams moved to 2-4 on the season.

The Privateers recorded 183 net rushing yards and 92 net passing yards, en route to only 13 first downs.  The first score came from Greg Campisi (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) who caught a 64-yard pass from Michael Smooke (Land O'Lakes, FL/East Lake (FL)) (Land O'Lakes, FL/East Lake) in the first quarter.  71 of the total rushing yards came from Smooke on one play for Maritime's second score of the afternoon. 

Defensively, the Privateers were led by Tom Feeney (Ulster Park, N.Y./Kingston) (Ulster Park, NY/Kingston) with 6.5 tackles.  Tom Maier (Hicksville, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) (Hicksville, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) recorded the only sack in the game, and also forced a fumble.
