Women's Soccer Suffers Conference Loss to Purchase

THROGGS NECK, NY – The SUNY Maritime women's soccer team fell to Purchase College 7-0 this afternoon on Reinhart field. The Panthers improve to 5-6-1 (2-0-1) while Maritime drops to 0-8 (0-3).
 
Susan Bigler had three goals for the Panthers, who took 33 total shots and had 12 corner kicks in the game. Meghan Countryman and Shannon Ruiz tallied a goal and an assist each on the afternoon, while goalkeeper Stephanie Janasiewicz was tested by the Privateers' attack only once. 
 
Kaitlin Murray (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren Regional) (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren Regional) attempted the only shot for Maritime. Andria Thornton (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) recorded 14 saves in the contest.
 
The Privateers are back in action on October 10th at Yeshiva University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.
