Privateer Women's Soccer Falls on Senior Day

THROGGS NECK, NY - The SUNY Maritime women's soccer team fell to St. Joseph's 7-0 on senior day at Maritime.  The Privateers finish their season at 2-12 (2-7) while St. Joseph's improved to 11-5-2 (5-1-2).

St. Joseph's came out strong and took command of the ball early.  Daniela Imbrogno opened the scoring 8 minutes into the game.  Angie Merante scored twice for, while Pam Brandon, Elizabeth Jentz, Christina Gagliardo, and Maureen Nolan notched singles for the Golden Eagles. 

The Privateers recorded 10 saves in goal between the starting keeper, Andria Thornton (Saugerties, N.Y./Saugerties) (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) and her replacement Krystyn Rutzel (Levittown, NY/Division Ave.) (Levittown, NY/Division Ave.). 

Four seniors were honored for their hard work and dedication to the Maritime soccer team prior to the game. Those 4 senior were:  Kelly Fitzpatrick (Annapolis, MD/Mount de Sales) (Annapolis, MD/Mount de Sales), Kelly Carroll (Bethany Beach, Del./Indian River) (Bethany Beach, DE/Indian River), Nicole Rosario (Massapequa, NY/Kellenberg) (Massapequa, NY/Kellenberg), and Melanie Peterson (Tampa, Fla./Wharton) (Tampa, FL/Wharton).  The coaches an staff at SUNY Maritime would like to thank them for their hard work over the years, and their dedication to the department and their sport.
