THROGGS NECK, NY- In an exciting 5-game series, the Privateer women's volleyball team defeated the Eagles of St. Elizabeth 3-2 for their first win of the season.  Maritime's record now stands at 1-12-0 while the Eagles stand at 10-7-0.

Although Maritime won the first two games 30-20 and 30-25, St. Elizabeth battled back, winning the next two games 30-26 and 30-26, forcing the match into a 5th and final game.  Although the score was close for the first 9 points, Maritime went 6-0 to end the game at 15-9 and win the match.

Maritime's next game will be played on October 17th, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the College of Mount St. Mary for a Skyline Conference match-up.
