Box Score

The Privateer football team was on the road for their second straight week and fell to the Husson Eagles 63-7.  The Privateers fall to 2-5 on the season.

Maritime's offense struggled the entire game, recording only 244 offensive yards on the afternoon.  The rushing attack, that was ranked 11th in the country coming into the game, was held to 125 net yards.  Ben Swedish (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) was limited to 86 yards on 23 carries.  Michael Smooke (Land O'Lakes, FL/East Lake (FL)) (Land O'Lakes, FL/East Lake) recorded the only score for the Privateers on a 1 yard keeper.  His 30 yard dash to open the drive set Maritime up with the prime field position to take it in for a score.

Defensively, Keith Hale (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) led the Privateers with 5.5 tackles.  Jack Edmund (Alturas, FL/Bartow) (Alturas, FL/Bartow) forced the only Eagles turnover, intercepting a pass with 6 seconds to go in the second quarter on the Privateer 5 yard line.

Maritime will be returning home this weekend to host the Newport News Apprentice School for their final home game of the season.  Kickoff is set for noon.
