THROGGS NECK, NY - The women's volleyball team started strong against Purchase, winning the first game of the match 30-25, but couldn't hold on and fell 3-1.  Maritime falls to 0-10 on the season, while Purchase improves to 3-16.

Brittany McVea (Camillus, NY/West Genesse) (Camillus, NY/West Genesee) led the Privateer attack with 6 kills and 8 aces.  Yanjie Shi (Singapore/Ngeeann Polytechnic) (Singapore) followed with 4 kills and 5 aces of her own. 

Purchase was led by Michelle Fetky with 15 kills and 7 assists.

The Privateers will take the court again on Saturday in a Skyline round robin date at Russell Sage.
