Al Juergens (Boylston, MA/New Fairfield) (Boylston, MA/New Fairfield) earned his best time all season in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 11:18.87, but he would be the only individual to earn a win as the Privateers of Maritime College drop their six straight dual meet to the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island, 152-80 Thursday evening in Throggs Neck, NY.
Continuing their success from last semester in relay events, the Privateers took first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:38.43. Other notable finishes for the Privateers include sophomore
Karl Fisher (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township) (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township) taking second in 1-meter diving with a score of 96.10 and two second place finishes for senior
Brent May (Sabel, NY/Sabel) (Sabel, NY/Sabel) in the 50-yard freestyle [24.65] and 100-yard freestyle [54.51].
The men’s team returns to action on Wednesday, January 24 when they travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to compete against Vassar College.
