Box Score Newburgh, NY – Sophomore guard
Joseph Bracaglia (Jamaica, N.Y./Martin Van Buren) (Jamaica, NY/Martin Van Buren) scored a season high 21 points, but it would be
Mike Hoyt’s (Florida, NY/S.S. Seward Institute) 50 points game that led his Blue Knights of Mount Saint Mary College to a 98-69 victory over the Privateers of Maritime College in Skyline Conference men’s basketball action Thursday night at the Kaplan Center in Newburgh, NY.
The Privateers (2-14, 1-6) got off to a slow start in the first half and trailed by 24 points at intermission. They had a stronger second half, but couldn’t seem to come up with a solution to stopping Hoyt who finishes the game as the only Blue Knight (6-10, 3-4) to score in double figures.
Junior forward
Michael Stolberg (Bayside, N.Y./Holy Cross) (Bayside, NY/Holy Cross) finished the night with his fourth double-double in the last eight games, scoring 19 points and pulling down 11 boards. Sophomore forward
Timothy Dougherty (Fresh Meadows, NY/St. Francis Prep) contributed a double-double of his own with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Maritime returns to action on Saturday, January 20 when they travel to Hackettstown, NJ to face the Cyclones of Centenary College in their fifth straight Skyline game. Tip-off is set for 4:00pm and will be played at Hackettstown High School.
