Throggs Neck, NY – Playing in their first Skyline Conference game in over a month, the Privateers of Maritime College were unable to contain the Farmingdale State Rams as they scored 14-of-18 shots from downtown on way to a 77-62 victory in men’s basketball action Wednesday night at Riesenberg Gymnasium in Throggs Neck, NY.

 

Leading the charge on offense for the Rams was sophomore guard Damian Santana (Brooklyn, NY/Grady) who put on a shooting exhibition, hitting 7-of-9 shots from beyond the arc and 10-of-14 from the field for a game high 27 points.

 

Senior guard Terry Menefee (Mission, KS/Shawnee Mission North) scored 13 points for the Rams, shooting 3-of-4 from three-point range, while junior guard Peter Lipka (Shelton, CT/Shelton) also shot 3-of-4 from beyond the arc to finish with 11 points.

 

Junior forward Michael Stolberg (Bayside, N.Y./Holy Cross) (Bayside, NY/Holy Cross) had a quiet 14 points and nine rebounds for the Privateers. Sophomore guard Joseph Bracaglia (Jamaica, N.Y./Martin Van Buren) (Jamaica, NY/Martin Van Buren) finishes with 13 points and junior guard Lamar Fields (Bronx, NY/Rice) had 10 to round out the scoring for Maritime.  

 

Farmingdale now improves to 8-3 on the year and move to 4-0 in the Skyline. Maritime, still search of their first win in over two months, falls to 1-12, 0-4 in the Skyline.

 

The Privateers continue conference play when the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent come to town on Saturday, January 13 in a 3:00pm game.
