Box Score Throggs Neck, NY – An early first half lead would prove to be too much for the Privateers who dropped a 7-0 decision to the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline Conference women’s soccer game at Reinhart Field Wednesday evening.
Sophomore forward Tracy Frank (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) scored the game-winning goal, unassisted, at 7:26 total time. The Dolphins would score four more before the end of the half, two of which came from junior midfielder Katherine Gentsch (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) who finished the day with four goals.
Senior keeper Nicole Roasrio (Massapequa, NY/Kellenberg) stopped 16 shots for the Privateers, while the Dolphins keeper made one save for her first shutout of the season.
With the win, the Dolphins move to 1-0 both overall and in the Skyline, while the Privateers fall to 0-2 on the year and 0-1 in their Skyline Conference debut.
The Privateers return to action on Homecoming Saturday, when they host the Cyclones of Centenary College in a 5:30pm match. This game will follow the football home opener against Gallaudet University at 1:00pm.
