Jeanette Golson (Brooklyn, NY/Transit Tech) (Brooklyn, NY/Transit Tech) tied a career single match high with 11 blocks, but her efforts wouldn’t be enough to overcome the Dolphins of the College of Mount Saint Vincent who get the 3-0 victory in a Skyline Conference women’s volleyball match at Riesenberg Gymnasium Wednesday night in Throggs Neck, NY.
The Privateers came into tonight’s match after an impressive showing at the “Battle of Jay Street” tournament this past weekend where they grabbed a victory in their first match of the season against New York City Tech, 3-0.

Brittany McVea (Camillus, NY/West Genesse) (Camillus, NY/West Genesse) led the Privateers with five digs, four kills, three assists and two aces, while junior middle hitter
Marissa Webber-Bey (Far Rockaway, NY/Fashion Industries) finished with five digs and five blocks.
After tonight’s match, the Privateers fall to 1-3 on the year and 0-1 in the Skyline. The College of Mount Saint Vincent improves to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Skyline.
The Privateers return to action on Saturday, September 16 when they travel to Hoboken, NJ for a Skyline Conference Tri-Match against the Stevens Institute of Technology and the College at Old Westbury. Maritime is scheduled to play Stevens at 10:00am, which will be followed by a match against Old Westbury at Noon.
