Bracaglia scores career-high in loss to Yeshiva

New York, NY – Sophomore guard Joseph Bracaglia (Jamaica, N.Y./Martin Van Buren) (Jamaica, NY/Martin Van Buren) scored a career single-game high 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line, but the Privateers dropped their third straight, losing to the Maccabees of Yeshiva University, 61-49, Saturday evening at the Mac Stern Athletic Center in New York, NY.
 
After struggling in his previous two starts, sophomore forward Timothy Dougherty (Fresh Meadows, NY/St. Francis Prep) returned to game form, scoring 17 points and grabbing five boards.
 
The Privateers got off to a slow start in the first, scoring just 19 points, 11 from Dougherty. However, they rallied back in the second half behind 14 points from Bracaglia, coming to within eight points of the Macs on two occasions.
 
Junior center Shuki Merlis (Atlanta, GA/Yeshiva Atlanta) led the Macs with 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field. Merlis also led the team with eight rebounds and five blocks.
 
The Privateers return to action following final examinations when they travel to take on the Black Knights of Army on Monday, December 18 at Christl Arena in West Point, NY.
