Box Score Castine, ME – Sophomore Timothy Dougherty (Fresh Meadows, NY/Saint Francis Prep) had a team high 16 points and added six rebounds, but the Privateers would come up short after holding a 12 points first half lead against the Division II Keelhaulers of California Maritime in the second game of the Maritime Classic in Castine, ME.
Dougherty’s performance helped earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team, finishing out the weekend with 28 points, 12 rebounds and shot 6-7 from the free-throw line. Junior forward
Justen Price (Yonkers, NY/Lincoln) had 10 points, while freshman guard
Kenneth Chapman (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Robert F. Wagner) (Far Rockaway, NY/Robert F. Wagner) finished with nine points.
The Keelhaulers had three starters finish with double figures, led by senior forward Praise Odo-Boms (Inglewood, CA) who also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Cal Maritime’s leading scorer, senior guard Tom Kreta (Kodiak, AK), had 19 points and sophomore guard Will Williams (Spring Valley, CA) had 16 points.
Maritime returns to action following the Thanksgiving break on Sunday, November 26 when they travel to Oneonta, NY to take on the Hawks of Hartwick College for a 2:00pm tip-off.
