Freshmen Emery Persinger (Cheswick, PA/Deer Lakes) (Cheswick, PA/Deer Lakes) and Ryan Farrell (Hauppauge, NY/St. Anthony's) (Hauppauge, NY/St. Anthony's) led the defensive front for the Privateers with six total tackles each and Farrell had one sack. Leading the Morrisville offense was running back Dante Bryant (Philadelphia, PA/Roxborough) who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Bill Poling (Waretown, NJ/Southern Regional) was limited to just one completion for nine yards and was sacked four times.

Junior quarterback Zach Townsend (Corning, NY/Corning East) (Corning, NY/Corning East) started the game and on his first drive threw a five-yard touchdown pass to freshman Benjamin Sweedish (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) to cap off a nine play, 53-yard drive, giving the Privateers a 6-0 lead.

Morrisville would answer back with a nine yard touchdown run by Bryant with just over two minutes left in the first half, to take the lead, 7-0. The Mustangs then took a 13-6 lead on a one yard run by sophomore full back Eric Hill (Cattaraugus, NY/Little Valley) that closed out a 17 play, 64-yard drive.

Bryant scored his second touchdown on a 27-yard run with 55 seconds left in the game to give the Mustangs a 20-6 lead and making it a two possession game for the Privateers.

Campisi and crew would put together a 43-yard drive at the end of the game, but there just wasn’t enough time left for the Privateers to catch up as they drop their third game of the season. Morrisville improved their record to 1-4, earning their first win of the season.

The Privateers return to action on Saturday, October 7 at 5:00pm when they host Walter Reed in what was originally scheduled as an away contest.
