Box Score Throggs Neck, NY – Sophomore Sam Musovic (Loegne, Germany/Bertholt Brecht) has career game with a hat trick and two assists to lead the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island to victory over the Privateers of Maritime College, 6-3, in men’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon in Throggs Neck, NY.
The Privateers opened up the game with a goal from freshman forward Mehmet Alkan (Turkey/Ozel Cent) who netted his tenth of the season. Staten Island tied the game up three minutes later on an unassisted goal by Musovic.
Freshman forward
Michael Bulzomi (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) (Oakdale, NY/Connetquot) helped Maritime regain the lead with his second goal of the season at 33:28 giving the Privateers a 2-1 advantage heading into the half. Senior

Bulzomi’s goal, while sophomore
Emilio Andino (Roselle, NJ/Abraham Clark) (Roselle, NJ/Abraham Clark) gets the assist for
Alkan’s goal.
The second half was owned solely by Staten Island who would score five goals including three in a three minute time span. Leading the Dolphins second half surge was senior forward Drew Sermanek (Staten Island, NY/Msgr. Farrell) who had two goals and junior Ronaldo Btesh (Buenos Aires, ARG/Yeshiva Rambam) who tied the game at 2-2.
Sophomore
James Salka (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) scored the Privateers third goal of the game, tapping in a shot that ricocheted off the keeper’s hands.
Salka’s goal brought the Privateers within one, 4-3.
Musovic then took control, netting his final two goals to give the Dolphins to 6-3 victory.
Freshman keeper
Andrew Roth (Huntington, NY/Huntington) (Huntington, NY/Huntington) made his first career start in net for the Privateers, making seven saves and held the Dolphins to just one goal in the first half. Junior
Joseph Fassari (Staten Island, NY/Msgr. Farrell) earned the win in net for Staten Island stopping ten of the 20 shots he faced.
Maritime returns to action on Friday, October 20 when they travel to Newburgh, NY for a Skyline Conference game against the Blue Knights of Mount Saint Mary College.
