Privateers shutout by Rams

Farmingdale, NY – Farmingdale State freshman defender Marcos Cipra (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach) and junior forward Andrew Whilby (St. Albans, NY/Wolmer’s Boy School) each scored to help give the Rams a 3-0 victory over Maritime College in a key Skyline Conference game Thursday evening in Farmingdale, NY.
 
Heading into tonight’s game, Maritime and Farmingdale were tied for third place in the Skyline. The win now pushes the Rams into second place with a 3-2-1 conference record behind the Merchant Marine Academy, while the Privateers fall to fifth place with a 2-3-1 record behind Stevens and Saint Joseph’s.
 
Junior keeper Matt Kavanaugh (Penfield, NY/Penfield) (Penfield, NY/Penfield) finishes the day with ten saves, while freshman Patric Gubbins (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) made two saves to earn the shutout for the Rams.
 
The Privateers return to action on Saturday, October 14 when they travel to Hackettstown, NJ to take on the Cyclones of Centenary College in a 2:00pm Skyline Conference match.
