Throggs Neck, NY – In their last home meet of the year, the Maritime College men’s swimming team excelled over the Brewers of Vassar College, placing first in 8 of the 13 events competed in.
Junior
Brent May (Sabel, NY/Sabel) (Sabel, NY/Sabel) had one of his best performances of the season, winning all three freestyle events which included the 1000-yard freestyle. the 500-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle. Also picking up three first place finishes was freshman
Matthew Drollinger (Glen Cove, NY/Kellenberg) (Glen Cove NY/Kellenberg).
Senior
Joseph McHattie (Dania Beach, FL/South Broward) (Dania Beach, FL/South Broward) grabbed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.36 in his final home performance. Rounding things out for the Privateers was freshman
Karl Fisher (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township) (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township) taking first in the 100-yard freestlye with a time of 53.88. Both

Drew Gossoo (Marlborough, CT/Xavier) (Marlborough, CT/Xavier) helped start the night off right with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.
Tonight’s victory improves the Privateer men’s swimming team to 3-5 on the year and next they will head to Hoboken, NJ to take on the Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday January 27th at 7:00pm.
