Throggs Neck, NY – After 77 minutes of solid defensive play, the Rams were able to get on the board after a goal by freshman midfielder Fabian Santibanez (Oyster Bay, NY/Oyster Bay). The goal gave the Rams a 1-0 lead and eventual win over the Privateers of Maritime College Wednesday night in Skyline Conference play.

Sean Pfanzelter (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) made his first career start in in for the Privateers, replacing sophomore
Matt Kavanaugh (Penfield, NY/Penfield) who is serving a one game suspension after being issued a red card in Wednesday's contest. In 90 minutes of soccer, Pfanzelter gave up two goals and stopped four shots.
The Privateers out shot the Rams 30-14, but just couldn’t seem to get one past senior goalkeeper Patric Santiago (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) who finished the day with 12 saves and the shutout.
Today’s game drops Maritime to 2-2 on the year and 1-1 in the Skyline putting them into a tie for fourth place with the now 1-1 Farmingdale State. Next up the Privateers head to Hoboken, NJ for another Skyline Conference game against the Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology.
