Throggs Neck, NY – Sophomore center Kimberly Lund (North Rockland, NY/North Rockland) (North Rockland, NY/North Rockland) scored a season high 21 points along with seven rebounds in a tough loss to Saint Joseph’s-Patchogue in the Privateers final game of the regular season. Lund, who only played the second half of the semester, finished the year with 117 points averaging 10.7 a game.

In her last ever performance on a Maritime court, senior guard Kerri Herrmann (Central Islip, NY/St. Anthony's) (Central Islip, NY/St. Anthony’s) had four points, four steals and eight rebounds. Herrmann finished out her season leading the team in steals with 45 and assists with 46. Sophomore guard Kristen Johnston (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa Acad.) (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) netted 10 points on the day as she finished the year with 169 points, second best on the team. Freshman forward Jeanette Golson (Brooklyn, NY/Transit Tech) (Brooklyn, NY/Transit Tech) led the team on defense today with nine rebounds and four blocks pushing her block totals on the year to 35 in 22 games played. The freshmen duo of Golson and Marissa Webber-Bey (Far Rockaway, NY/Fashion Industries) dominated the boards for the Privateers this year. Webber-Bey finished with a total of 151 rebounds while Golson wasn’t far behind with 148 boards on the year.

The team’s leading scorer this season was junior Alissa Bello (Rockaway, NY/Poly Prep) (Rockaway, NY/Poly Prep) who finished with 175 points in 18 games. Bello was on track to finish the year way above 200 points, however on February 2nd against Stevens, she tore her Achilles tendon putting an early end to a very productive season.

With only two graduating seniors on the team, the Privateers will look to add some young talent to combine with the current team’s veterans to help push the team to new heights next season.
