Throggs Neck, NY – Maritime freshman forward
Cassandra Domingos (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) scored her first career goal in a very physical 4-2 defeat to the Cougars of Medgar Evers College in women’s soccer action Thursday afternoon in Throggs Neck.
The Cougars took an early 2-0 lead, but the Privateers answered back as sophomore forward
Kelly Carroll (Bethany Beach, Del./Indian River) (Bethany, DE/Indian River) put a shot in the lower left corner, out of the reach of the Cougar goalkeeper with two and half mintues to go in the first half. This was Carroll’s third goal of the season, a team high, Domingos had the assist.
Maritime would open the second half strong, as Domingos netted her goal at 50:39 total time after the Medgar Evers goalkeeper dropped the ball after making an initial save. Medgar Evers junior forward Kaunda Francis (Brooklyn, NY/Canarsie), who scored Medgar’s first goal, went on two score the final two goals of the game.

Kim DiGiulio (Massapequa, NY/Amittyville Memorial) (Massapequa, NY/Amityville) had a 15 saves on the day, while freshman goalkeeper
Nisha Haire (Brooklyn, NY/Thomas Jefferson) stopped six shots and gave up two goals for the Cougars.
The Maritime women’s soccer team will close out their inaugural season on Monday, October 24th, when they host the Bloodhounds of John Jay College with a start time of 4pm.
