Throggs Neck, NY – It was a cold, rainy autumn night in Throggs Neck as the Privateer women’s soccer team took the field against the Panthers of Purchase College, who took a 10-0 decision in the game. The game was originally scheduled to take place at Purchase, but was moved to Maritime due to unplayable field conditions.

Senior forward Albana Krasniqi (Bronx, NY/JFK) led the way for the Panthers scoring five goals, while junior forward Kayla Thompson (Akwesasne, NY/Potsdam) and junior defender Jennifer Bastidas (New York, NY/Philip Randolph) each added two a piece.

Senior goalkeeper Kim DiGiulio (Massapequa, NY/Amittyville Memorial) (Massapequa, NY/Amityville) had a career high of 23 saves for the Privateers while the Panthers goalkeeper, senior Carrie Hoskins (Berkeley, CA/Berkeley) had one save on the night.

Maritime returns to action on Thursday, October 20th when they host the Cougars of Medgar Evers for a 4:30pm match up. Then the Privateers will close out their season on Monday October 24th, a game that was rescheduled from earlier in the season.
