Freshman Matt DeMeo of the Maritime men's lacrosse team was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week following his first career game in a Privateer uniform.

DeMeo had two goals in Saturday's season-opening win against Centenary (NJ). With Maritime trailing by a score of 5-3, DeMeo scored a pair of goals late in the third quarter to even the score at five. His pair of goals sparked a six-goal streak for the Privateers as Maritime finished the game winning by a 9-5 score.
