Maritime junior quarterback Thomas Wright was named Eastern Collegiate Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday following a strong showing in Saturday's season-opening victory over the Maine Maritime Mariners by a 59-13 score.

right had a record-setting performance on Saturday afternoon as the senior tied the single-game passing record with three touchdowns in one game. In addition to his three passing touchdowns, Wright also opened the scoring in Maritime's win with a rushing touchdown in the first quarter. Through the air he was 14-of-16 and threw for 214 yards, which was the third highest total in program history for a single game.
